Warning - some viewers may find the content of this video disturbing A video that went viral on Facebook this morning shows the heartbreaking scene as a girl mercilessly beat her horse in the street after it spat out sperm. The Malta Independent has contacted the young woman who took the video to detail what she saw. While walking near HSBC in the Swatar area, she said she saw the horse lying face down on the road and the woman was hitting it. She told the woman to 'leave the horse alone', but the horse's owner ignored her and continued to beat her. The woman kept repeating the phrase 'something happened to the horse' as the girl continued to hit the horse. The young woman then called Animal Welfare and she was told that when they arrived at the scene to investigate 30 minutes later, the owner and the horse were not there. In her comments section, she said that she was not only shocked by what she was seeing but also by the fact that there were 'some people around just looking and doing absolutely nothing'. The woman said she 'couldn't stand watching'.
